Destination: Loudonville, Ohio for the Mohican 100

 

Riders are beginning to make the trek to Loudonville, Ohio for Saturdays Mohican NUE event which will begin with a mass start promptly at 7am in downtown Loudonville. The population of Loudonville is heighten during this time of the year as it tends to be a weekend vacation getaway for many as the nearby Mohican River helps lure in campers, hikers, horseback riders and plenty of paddlers (river canoe rentals are huge here) from in state and out of state.

For those that aren't looking to push themselves on a mountain bike for either the 100 mile or 100k journeys, should think about driving into Loudonville to catch the mass start and maybe to watch the race unfold at various points of the race course. Heck, if you get tired of watching the riders go by you might even want to test your skills on the go cart race course that has been redesigned for this season. Yeah, I've spent some cash on that course in the past.

This years finish is close to downtown, at the Mohican Adventure Center located on Route 3 (near the State Park entrance), which tend to see racers finishing the event beginning around 12 noon.
